Who is Lyra?

I come from a very mixed European background with 7 nationalities in the last 4 generations of my family, a fact that certainly contributed to my unsettled childhood. I was born in London, in 1971, but my family seemed to be constantly on the move.  With each move I learnt more about fitting in in new environments, and I now speak several languages and have enjoyed the experience of living in 6 different countries.

For the last few years, my chosen home has been in the beautiful Taunus hills, just outside Frankfurt in Germany – a wonderful place to bring up my 3 teenage boys.

I have experience in the banking, marketing & steel industries as well as training and translating. For a few years, I was a full-time wife and stay-at-home mom, until 5 years ago, faced with single parenthood, I took the decision to start my own business and I have never looked back!

As a Life Coach & intercultural trainer I work with clients from many different backgrounds and offer a range of individually tailored services. My clients have the opportunity to experience various different coaching and training situations – from the one-to-one office or private consultation senario, to stone sculpting in groups, to retreat workshops in the  Alps.

As a sculptress & cartoonist I regularly hold exhibitions both here in Germany & abroad, so sculpting and creativity often play a role in my work, but as an amateur astronomer and volunteer at the local observatory I also understand the importance of empirical data, and I seek to incorporate this into my work.

I have experienced the culture shocks and frustrations which come with the expat lifestyle, serious health issues, the stresses of single parenthood, the fulfilment and hard work of running a business, and the work-life-balance issues that we all face.

For me the concepts of gratitude, love and respect are key…and I’d love to share with you how they can make you feel fantastic when you have found ways to integrate them into your  life!
